Reducing a file to exactly 20MB is one of the most common requests — Gmail, Outlook, WhatsApp, and most document portals cap uploads or attachments at 20–25MB. Here's exactly how to do it, free, in your browser.
Setting a 20MB Target
In CompressAndGo, type 20480 (20 × 1024) into the target KB input field. The AI engine will iteratively compress your file until it hits — or gets as close as possible to — your 20MB target.
Step-by-Step
- Go to compressandgo.app
- Type 20480 in the KB input field
- Drop your file (image, PDF, or video) into the upload zone
- Wait for compression — progress is shown in real time
- Click the download button to save your 20MB file
For Images
Setting a 20MB target for most images will result in very high quality output — images rarely need more than a few MB. Try 500KB (500) for standard web or email use. For very large RAW or TIFF files, 20MB is a reasonable target.
For PDFs
A 20MB target is achievable for most PDFs. For scanned PDFs above 100MB, enable Max Compression mode for the deepest reduction.
For Videos
Switch to the Videos tab, choose Balanced or Max Compress quality, and the engine will compress your video as close to your target as possible.
Send Immediately After Compression
Once compressed, click the share icon to send directly to Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, WhatsApp, or Discord — all without leaving CompressAndGo.
Free and Private
No upload, no account, no subscription. Your file stays on your device throughout the entire process.
